Izumi: (Before I knew it, the time for the private viewing has come, but...... I wonder if everyone's created their roles?)

Izumi: (Pretty soon I'll be at the area Itaru-san is on standby at......)

Itaru: "H-m...... It's not here. I wonder where it went."

Izumi
: (He's looking for something......?)

Itaru
: "I'm sure it was around here, though. ......Hm?"

Itaru
: "Excuse me, Miss! You've got a bored expression there."

Izumi: Good evening.

Izumi
: (He went with a cheerful character this time......)

Itaru: "Your timing's perfect. Come play a game with me."

Izumi
: A game?

Itaru
: "I hid a rare silver coin around this area. Try looking for it."

Izumi: A treasure hunt...... Understood!

Itaru
: "If you find it without incident, I'll give you something nice."

Izumi
: Something nice? I wonder what it is.......

Itaru: "Haha. Look forward to it. Well then, game start!"

Izumi
: (Silver coin...... Silver coin......)

Izumi
: (...... With these plants sticking close together and the night's dimness, I don't feel like I can find it......)

Izumi: Um, are there no hints?

Itaru: "A hint....... White, red, yellow, and orange...... My companions are protecting it."

Izumi: ......! Maybe!

Izumi: (I'm pretty sure there should be some gerberas around here......)

Izumi: --There it is!

Itaru
: "You found it."

Izumi
: I remembered going on a treasure hunt when I was younger, and I couldn't help but get giddy.

Itaru
: "Phew...... Now then, as promised, here's your reward."

Izumi
: This is...... A gerbera?

Itaru
: "That's right, it's a pink gerbera. In flower language, it means 'Compassion,' 'Passionate love,' and--"

Izumi
: (I-Itaru-san's close......)

Itaru
: "--'Return to one's childish innocence.'"

Itaru
: How about a performance like that?

Izumi
: W-Why are you enticing the customers? Besides, there are times when the customers are guys, too! (Note 1)

Itaru
: Enticing...... It's not like I was trying to do that, though.......

Itaru
: Hm...... The finale was too weak, huh. Back to the drawing board.......

Izumi: ......But, the treasure hunt was interesting, and it was really nice that you're teaching the customer flower language.

Itaru
: ......! Director-san, that follow-up was god tier.......

Izumi
: Huh?

Itaru
: "......My ruler, I dedicate myself to you."

Izumi
: Haha. Why are you saying a Lancelot-like line?

Sakuya: Wow! Itaru-san, are you maybe doing a role of a gerbera prince? It's really cool!

Chikage: That kneeling pose is that of a prince, but...... The aura is of an aggravating otaku.

Izumi
: Since when have you two been there.......

Chikage: Now, since when I wonder?

Sakuya: Itaru-san, how was your role as a gerbera?

Itaru
: There's a bit where I have to go back to think of something else for the role, but well, if I brush it up, I think it'll have a good feel to it.

Izumi: You're strangely positive today.

Itaru: Well, gerberas' one other flower language is--'Positivity,' after all.

Note 1: By "enticing," it's more like what she means is that he's like... well, frankly, sweet-talking/flirting/downright seducing the customers I think, but I was like... uhh do I actually straight-up say seducing in the tl... And I couldn't make up my mind, so we have the rated E for everyone version of "enticing"

Anyway this is something I've been sitting on for a while, because I wanted to be sure the flower language translations were right because it really does reflect Itaru's character, which is what makes vivid backstages so interesting. Hopefully I did everything as accurate as possible...

About the returning to childish innocence one--I wasn't really sure of any other way to tl it and this is still the best I have, but I believe it's originally a phrase in Japanese that means just that: it means to regain some of the innocence you had as a child. I think in regard to Itaru, it's probably the one that he found last in the previous backstage, and it does suit him. When he plays games, he does act like a child (lol), but I wonder if there's deeper meaning behind it. Itaru's really jaded because of what happened to him, so I always wonder if, to him, the words also hold significant meaning because he regained some of his faith in the world when he came to this theater (throwback to main story act 1 where he talks to himself and thinks that it might be alright to trust people again), so by "returning to his childish innocence," even if it's just a fragment of that mindset he had as a child, it's something that changed his life a lot. After all, as a child, you usually believe in the world, but Itaru was the kind of kid who lost his faith in the world really fast because of what happened to him. Idk I'm probably just rambling and grasping at straws at this point.
